Actor Lakshya Kochhar, known for his roles in Bambai Meri Jaan and now in TVF's series Industry, recently interacted with DNA and talked about his journey and nepotism in the entertainment industry.

While speaking with us, Lakshya revealed that he had auditioned thrice for his role in the series Industry. When asked about how he landed the role in the show, Lakshya explained, “I knew Navjot before; we had worked together in a short film called Second Hand. He called me around the time when Bambai Meri Jaan was about to be released, right after the trailer had launched. He asked me to audition for the part, and I auditioned for it thrice. On the day when Bambai Meri Jaan premiered, I got this role.”

Regarding whether children of industry insiders face their own set of challenges, he commented, “Of course, that’s something we're exploring in the show as well. The protagonist is a writer, a very conventional writer, and his struggles are very evident. We often perceive that the grass is greener on the other side, the other side is very rosy, so we're trying to depict the vulnerabilities of those who might have it easier at the start. So, yeah everyone has their own set of struggles.”

When asked about whether children of industry insiders have advantages due to their contacts, Lakshya responded, “100 percent, the access is very easy, but ultimately you have to keep doing good work to establish yourself in the industry and earn appreciation from audiences. You have to keep doing good work for a longer career in this field. You enter this industry not just for 2, 3, or 4 films but for a good chunk of your life. You have to consistently deliver work that is liked by critics, fans, and the audience. While they might have an easier first step, it's not necessarily easy for them to maintain that success.”

Lakshya, originally from Bhopal, started his career with the 2018 film Gold and has since made a mark with his performances, including his current portrayal of Rocky in Industry, which premiered on June 19.
