Rahul Dravid’s tenure as the head coach of team India ended on a high note after winning the T20 World Cup 2024 in Barbados. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja announced retirement from T20I after winning the T20 World Cup final against South Africa. The match was also the last for Rahul Dravid as coach of the world champion team India. Until now, the winning speeches of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were doing rounds on social media platforms and now, an emotional farewell speech of Rahul Dravid has been shared by the Indian Cricket Team on Instagram. “Just like to say, thank you very much Ro for making the call and asking me to continue. I think it’s been such a privilege and a pleasure to work with each and everyone of you and everyone of you, but also thanks to Ro for the time. I know the captain a lot of times we have agreed, disagree at times, but thank you so very much.” Rahul Dravid said.

“I think you know it’s it’s been to get to know each and everyone of you as a person, and yeah I think it’s your moment. It’s your moment. Remember it. It’s not about any individual. It’s about a team we won this as a team. We did everything that we did for the last one month as a team. It’s about all of us.” he added.

BCCI will soon announce the name of the next head coach. If reports are to be believed, there are two names that the board is considering for the role. Currently, VVS Laxman is accompanying the Indian team for the Zimbabwe tour.
