Indian pacer Mohammed Shami is currently grabbing headlines for wedding rumours with Indian tennis star Sania Mirza. The two were said to be engaged, a media report that has been termed a rumour by Sania Mirza's father. However, amid this, Shami has now given a piece of good news to his fans which anyone would be excited to hear about. Shami, who has been out of the Indian side since the last ODI World Cup in November 2023, has started bowling the nets again and is preparing to make a comeback in the Indian team soon.

Shami, who has missed all the cricketing action including IPL 2024 and the ongoing T20 World Cup, recently shared a video on his Instagram account where he could be seen gearing up to practice bowling at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

For the unversed, Shent went through intensive surgery on his right tendon in February. Since then, he has been under the care of NCA Head of Sports Science Dr Nitin Patel, and NCA Strength and Conditioning coach Rajnikanth in Bengaluru.

Fans would surely be glad to know that the Indian pacer has started to bowl again and is able to do it without discomfort.

"Shami has started bowling. Not with full run-up or full tilt but has started releasing the ball without any discomfort in the nets. This is a good sign because bowling activity has begun," Shami's childhood coach Badrauddin told News18.

"No doubt he will be back in India colours very soon. You would have seen the progress he has been making via the social media videos and the post. He is working very hard but more clarity will come when bowling resumes at full tilt and how the body reacts after that," Badrauddin added.
