For those unfamiliar with the details, the Indian team, accompanied by BCCI officials, including Jay Shah, arrived in Delhi this morning from Barbados on a special Air India flight that had landed in the Caribbean on Wednesday, July 3rd. The players received a hero's welcome at the airport, with thousands of fans eagerly awaiting the arrival of the champions and the T20 World Cup trophy.
Upon their arrival at the ITC Maurya hotel, the team was greeted in a traditional manner, with a special trophy cake prepared to commemorate their T20 World Cup victory. The players took a moment to cut the cake before proceeding to their meeting with PM Modi, which lasted approximately 90 minutes. Following the meeting, the team bus departed for the airport, with the World Cup-winning squad set to arrive in Mumbai by 4 PM IST.
A victory parade is scheduled from 5 PM, starting at Nariman Point and concluding at Wankhede Stadium. Fans are invited to attend the event free of charge, where a victory lap and celebratory function will take place.
