Jannik Sinner defeated Alexander Zverev to win the Australian Open for the second time in a row, solidifying his supremacy in men's tennis.
After winning the first three Grand Slam men's singles finals he entered, the Italian world No. 1 has now joined an elite group of players in the Open era. With a score of 6-3, 7-6 (7-4), 6-3, he won in Melbourne on Sunday, showcasing his incredible talent and willpower.
Since losing to Zverev in the fourth round of the 2023 US Open, Sinner has been undefeated on hard courts at major championships. He has now won back-to-back titles in Melbourne and New York, demonstrating his ability to compete fiercely on this surface.
"We worked a lot to be in this position and it is an amazing feeling to share this moment with all of you," Sinner said to his team. "I know a part of the team is at home and my family, but it is amazing to share these feelings with you. I know Darren [Cahill] it is probably your last Australian Open as a coach and I am very, very happy to share this trophy with you. Everything started a little bit when I changed my combination of coaches and physio, I am very happy to have you all here."
Sinner has now won 21 straight hard-court matches at Grand Slams, extending his career-long winning streak to 21 games at all levels. He has tied an ATP record as the world No. 1 after winning 47 of his first 50 matches.

Even though his drug case is still under investigation, Sinner made a victorious gesture after hitting his final backhand winner against Zverev.
After losing in the finals in New York, Paris, and now Melbourne, Zverev is still seeking for his first major championship. Sinner put Zverev under pressure right away with his unrelenting ball-striking and superb footwork, making the match difficult for the German player.
