Mahakumbh 2025: Search for slippers in sea of footwear goes viral, user writes ‘chappal nahi mil rahi’

Mahakumbh mela that comes once in 12 years attracts largest gathering of devotees in the world. In 2025 Mahakumbh has attracted over 10 million devotees till now. As devotees perform daily rituals at the mela, a hilarious moment has captured the attention of internet users.  

A video from the Mahakumbh mela has gone viral showcasing devotees struggling to locate their footwear outside a temple. The video has generated thousands of views from viewers who found the video very humorous. The incident reminded of a famous belief that one loses one's loved ones in a kumbh mela. In this situation, it seems that the kumbh mela has not spared even footwear.  

A social media user posted the video online with the caption, “Bade hanuman ji ke mandir gaya tha ab chappal nahi mil rahi hai”, “Went to the temple of big Hanuman but now I’m not able to find my slippers.” 

A humorous video, viewed over 2 million times, has sparked a wave of amusing reactions from people who relate to the chaotic experience of crowded religious gatherings. One of them wrote, “when a slipper is lost from a religious place then it is considered auspicious.” Another one wrote, “People who must have owned shops there would have rejoiced to this news.” Ye another jokingly wrote, “Whoever’s slipper you get just use them.”
