​Is Vijay Mallya’s ‘Sky Mansion’ in Bengaluru costlier than Mukesh Ambani's Antilia?

One name that consistently comes to mind when we discuss luxury residences in India is Antilia, a sky-high abode located on Mumbai's Altamount Road. The Ambani family owns Antilia, a 27-story residential building that is reportedly among the most costly in the nation.

Fans are questioning whether Vijay Mallya's penthouse in Bangalore is more expensive than Ambani's Mumbai home. 

The Mallya's mansion-style penthouse is mounted on a giant cantilever slab on the top of Kingfisher Towers—residences at UB City, which is being built on a 4.5-acre land parcel that once housed his ancestral home. At nearly 400 feet in height, the penthouse is constructed.

It is located on the 34th and 35th floors of the Kingfisher Towers and spans more than 40,000 square feet on two levels. The home features two private lifts and a 360-degree viewing platform in addition to an infinity pool.

According to Mint reports, the property is estimated to be worth an astounding $20 million, or almost Rs 167 crores. It also makes it clear that, at more than Rs 15,000 crores, Ambani's Antilia is still the most expensive home in India.

Even though the $20 million mansion is truly a work of beauty, Vijay Mallya and his family were unable to move into it because construction was finished at the same time that he ran into financial difficulties with the government and ultimately fled to the UK.

Mallya since 2016 has been a fugitive in the United Kingdom after he defaulted on $1 Billion in bank loans. The Indian government is still trying to extradite him so he can face the money laundering and fraud charges back in India.
