  'Arrogance remains,' Kharge lashes out at PM for not speaking on NEET, Manipur violence in his pre-Parliament address

  Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday criticisised the central government, questioning how long they intend to govern by constantly bringing up the issue of the Emergency. Kharge was responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks to media persons ahead of the beginning of the 18th session of Lok Sabha. "He will repeat this 100 times. Without declaring an emergency, you are acting this way. How long do you plan to rule by bringing this up?" Kharge said. He also took to social media platform X to target the PM for not mentioning issues like the alleged irregularities on the NEET exam, Manipur violence and West Bengal train accident while addressing media persons outside the new Parliament building before taking oath as as a Lok Sabha MP.   "Betrayed people of Wayanad...": K Surendran after Rahul Gandhi writes letter to Wayanad voters

  Kerala Bharatiya Janata Party President K Surendran on Sunday reacted to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's letter to Wayanad voters and said that this is merely a "political gimmick", adding that Rahul Gandhi has betrayed the people of Wayanad.

  Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday wrote a heartfelt letter to the people of Wayanad, the constituency that he is giving up to represent Rae Bareli in the Lok Sabha.

  "This is nothing but a mere political gimmick. Rahul Gandhi has betrayed the Wayanad people already. He was always saying that Wayanad is my second home, my family. Now the intention behind that statement is clear. He brought his sister there, so he said all of this for his family members. This is also a gimmick, people won't believe him because he made many statements but is never true with that," said K Surendran told ANI.

  'Positively looking forward for coordination to run Parliament': Kiren Rijiju

  Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Monday said he was positively looking forward to coordination to run Parliament, as the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha gets underway.

  In a post on X, Rijiju said he shall always be available to assist the members of Parliament as the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs. "The First Session of the 18th Lok Sabha begins today, the 24th June, 2024. I welcome all the newly elected Hon'ble members. I shall be always available to assist the members as Minister of Parliamentary Affairs. I'm positively looking forward to co-ordination to run the house," Rijiju said.

  The proceedings will begin with members observing a moment of silence on the occasion of the first sitting of the 18th Lok Sabha. This will be followed by Lok Sabha Secretary General Utpal Kumar Singh placing on the table of the House the list of the members elected to the lower house.
