Vinod Agarwal, MD of Agarwal Coal Corporation Private Limited, is the richest person in Madhya Pradesh. He also secured 279th place on IIFL Hurun's list of the 1037 richest folks in India. He is reported to have a massive net worth of Rs 6,000 crore last year.
The turnover of Agarwal Coal Corporation is around Rs 10000 crore. In 2022, Vinod Agarwal significantly contributed to the country's economy by paying an income tax of Rs 243 crore and a whopping Rs 625 crore as GST.
Besides being one of the richest persons in the country, he is also known for charity. In 2022, the Vinod Agarwal Foundation made a hefty donation of Rs 25 crore. The Agarwal Coal Corporation Private Limited and Vinod Agarwal himself stand out as the highest tax-paying entities in Madhya Pradesh.
Vinod Agarwal, originating from humble beginnings, saw his family lose everything during the tumultuous times of the India-Pakistan Partition. He was just 3 years old when he moved to Indore along with his family.
He lived with his 8 siblings and parents in a 500 sq. ft. house. Vinod Agarwal, despite facing numerous challenges, managed to attain enormous success, leading him to be named the richest person in Madhya Pradesh.
