The inauguration ceremony of US President-elect Donald Trump on January 20, 2025, is set to witness a star-studded lineup of global business tycoons and tech moguls. Prominent attendees include Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg, and Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Mukesh and Nita Ambani, personally invited by Trump, arrived in Washington on January 18. The couple will participate in various events, including a reception at the Trump National Golf Club and an exclusive "candlelight dinner" with President-elect Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance. The Ambanis are among the select few seated with top dignitaries during the swearing-in ceremony.

However, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang will not attend the event. Huang has opted to prioritise Nvidia’s Lunar New Year celebrations in Taipei, followed by a similar event in Beijing. This decision comes amidst US export restrictions on advanced AI chips. These restrictions, imposed by the Biden administration, limit exports to allies like Taiwan but ban sales to countries like China, a major market for Nvidia.

Huang has expressed concerns about the impact of these regulations, warning they could stifle US leadership in AI innovation. Nvidia, with a market valuation of $3 trillion, has seen unprecedented growth due to surging demand for AI chips. However, the restrictions could challenge its ability to sustain revenue growth.

Donald Trump, who secured a decisive victory in the 2024 elections, will be sworn in for his second term as the 47th President of the United States. The event will be attended by outgoing President Joe Biden, several former US presidents, and international leaders, making it a historic global gathering.
