Iran-Israel War: Iran's Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's FIRST statement after ceasefire, says, 'Heavy slap to...'

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iranian Supreme Leader, has congratulated the people of the country over what he referred to as victory over Israel in his latest post on social media platform 'X'. Referring to Israel as the "fallacious Zionist regime", Khamenei congratulated the people of Iran. 

He claimed that Israel was "practically knocked out and crushed under the blows of the Islamic Republic". "With all that commotion and all those claims, the Zionist regime was practically knocked out and crushed under the blows of the Islamic Republic", wrote the Iranian Supreme Leader. 

Taking a dig at the United States, Khamenei added that it "entered the war to save Israel but achieved nothing". "My congratulations on our dear Iran’s victory over the US regime. The US regime entered the war directly because it felt that if it didn’t, the Zionist regime would be completely destroyed. It entered the war in an effort to save that regime but achieved nothing", said the Iranian Supreme Leader. 

He further claimed that Tehran delivered a heavy slap to Washington's face. "The Islamic Republic delivered a heavy slap to the US’s face. It attacked and inflicted damage on the Al-Udeid Air Base, which is one of the key US bases in the region", he continued. 

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei further warned the United States of a "heavy price" in case it repeats its actions in future. "The fact that the Islamic Republic has access to key US centers in the region and can take action whenever it deems necessary is a significant matter. Such an action can be repeated in the future too. Should any aggression occur, the enemy will definitely pay a heavy price", he wrote on 'X'.

The most intense direct confrontation between Iran and its long-time enemy Israel ended with a ceasefire truce, announced by US President Donald Trump. The truce followed Washington strikes on three key Iranian nuclear sites on late Saturday evening. The United States dropped bunker-buster bombs on Iran, with the president claiming that it completely "crippled Tehran’s nuclear capability." 

However, a leaked US intelligence report suggest that American strikes only delayed Iran’s nuclear programme by a few months. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also congratulated the people of the country over a "historic victory” over Iran following a 12-day conflict.
