Former US President Barack Obama was seen attending a dinner party at Stephen Starr's Osteria Mozza in Washington during the inauguration weekend, sparking fresh conversations about ongoing divorce rumors with Michelle Obama. According to Page Six, Obama joined a small gathering that included US President Joe Biden’s Chief of Staff, Jeff Zients, who arrived shortly after him.

Eyewitnesses reported being surprised by Obama’s unaccompanied arrival as he headed upstairs to the private event.

Speculation about a possible rift between Barack and Michelle Obama has been growing since Michelle skipped former President Jimmy Carter's funeral on January 9. It has also been confirmed that she will not attend US President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20. While Barack Obama will attend the event, no explanation has been provided for Michelle’s absence.

The couple, who met in 1989 at a law firm in Chicago and married in 1992, have been together for over three decades and have two daughters, Malia and Sasha.

Despite the rumors, Barack Obama took to social media on January 17 to wish Michelle a happy birthday. Posting a heartfelt message on X, he called her the “love of his life” and expressed his gratitude for their shared journey.

“Happy birthday to the love of my life, Michelle Obama. You fill every room with warmth, wisdom, humor, and grace – and you look good doing it. I’m so lucky to be able to take on life’s adventures with you. Love you!” he wrote, alongside a photo of Michelle.

As the rumors continue to circulate, the couple has yet to directly address the speculation publicly.
