Yograj Singh, father of cricket legend Yuvraj Singh, has grabbed the headlines these days for his controversial statements on various issues. The former cricketer was recently interviewed by YouTuber Samdish Bhatia. When asked about Aamir Khan’s acclaimed film Taare Zameen Par movie, Singh dismissed the film stating, "Badi hi wahiyat film hai" (It was very disgusting).
He also explained his perspective on parenting. He expressed a strong belief that a child’s growth is shaped primarily by their father’s influence. “Baccha woh he banega jo Baap kahega,” meaning children should follow their father’s guidance in all aspects. He further said, "Main aisi picture nahi dekhta." (I do not watch such films).
Yograj is often in the news for his provocative utterances. He has also featured in movies like Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Singh Is Bling and others. The Taare Zameen Par movie was released in 2007. It is a heartfelt drama directed by Aamir Khan, which tells the story of Ishaan Awasthi, an 8-year-old boy who struggles with dyslexia. The film follows his journey of self-discovery as his art teacher, played by Aamir, helps him overcome his challenges and embrace his artistic talents.
Moreover, in the same interview, Singh called Hindi a 'woman's language' and said it 'lacks energy'. The former cricketer also stated that he prefers to hear Hindi from a woman but Punjabi from men.
