The news of Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Priya Saroj’s alleged engagement with Indian cricket star Rinku Singh has been making waves on social media. Hailing from Machhali Shahar in Uttar Pradesh, Priya Saroj and Rinku Singh's names have been linked in several media reports. However, Priya Saroj’s father, SP MLA Toofani Saroj, has clarified the situation, denying any engagement at this point.

Amid the buzz, Priya Saroj posted pictures from her official engagement on social media. Sharing four photos on her Instagram, she informed her followers about her participation in a committee meeting of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in Thiruvananthapuram. The caption read, “Today in Thiruvananthapuram at the committee meeting of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.”

Priya’s father, Toofani Saroj, addressed the rumours while speaking to a news channel, stating that although Rinku Singh’s family had approached them regarding a potential alliance, the engagement news is inaccurate. He mentioned that Rinku Singh’s family had spoken to their elder son-in-law, who holds the position of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) in Aligarh. He added, “We are seriously considering this relationship, but since it’s about marriage, we will take a well-thought-out decision. However, the news of their engagement is false.”

Priya Saroj, aged 25, is one of the youngest and most promising leaders in the Samajwadi Party. Before stepping into politics, she worked as a lawyer in the Supreme Court. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Priya made headlines by defeating BJP veteran BP Saroj from the Machhlishahr (SC) constituency. A graduate of Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute, New Delhi, Priya Saroj is emerging as a dynamic leader in Indian politics.

The buzz surrounding her personal life, combined with her growing political influence, has garnered widespread attention from both the media and the public. However, her focus remains firmly on her responsibilities as a parliamentarian.
