The event, already a grand affair, saw Shloka make a statement with her heritage jewellery, echoing a legacy that spans generations
In the glittering world of high society, certain fashion choices become the talk of the town. One such choice has left the fashion world buzzing: Shloka Mehta's dazzling appearance at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's mehendi ceremony. The event, already a grand affair, saw Shloka make a statement with her heritage jewellery, echoing a legacy that spans generations.
Shloka Mehta, the esteemed wife of Akash Ambani and the daughter-in-law of Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani, has always been in the limelight not just for her role in the family but also for her flawless fashion sense.
For the mehendi ceremony, Shloka wore a golden-toned saree from Masaba Gupta’s House Of Masaba, valued at Rs. 60,000. Her choice of accessories, however, was what truly set her apart. She wore a pure silver and gold Kaliganthi neckpiece which belonged to her nani maa, a traditional piece of Gujarati jewellery featuring Raksha Yantra (amulets) made from gold filigree, strung together with pearls and beads. This neckpiece is not just a symbol of beauty and heritage but is also displayed at the MET Museum in New York, underlining its cultural significance.
Interestingly, this same Kaliganthi neckpiece was worn by Shloka’s chachi saas, Tina Ambani, at her wedding. Tina's bridal look featured a red gharchola saree and traditional gold jewellery, complete with glamorous makeup and a stunning sarpech-adorned safa worn by her groom, Anil Ambani.
Isha Ambani also showcased the Kaliganthi neckpiece at the Shiv-Shakti puja for Anant and Radhika, paired with a vintage Banarasi gold lehenga. Isha's look was accessorised with a choli, temple neckpiece, and matching earrings, completed with bronze-toned makeup and a low bun adorned with a red hair accessory.
Shloka Mehta’s choice of jewellery not only highlights her fashion acumen but also underscores the enduring legacy of the Kaliganthi neckpiece within the Ambani family, linking generations through timeless elegance.
