The image, taken from his balcony, captures a cloud-like fog enveloping the area, with only one high-rise emerging from the thick mist.
As the Delhi-NCR region endures severe cold wave conditions, a dense layer of fog has covered the national capital and its surrounding areas. Numerous residents are sharing videos and photos on social media, showcasing buildings nearly covered by the thick fog.
A photo posted by Indian journalist and writer Manu Joseph highlights the severe fog in Gurgaon, where visibility of buildings is nearly nonexistent. In his post, he said, ""Gurgaon this month. The best thing about the winter in Gurgaon is you don't see half of Gurgaon." The breathtaking view from the balcony captivated many viewers, who were struck by the ethereal, dream-like quality of the photo.
"Looks like a cruise ship," said one user while a second user joked: "Old: The tip of the iceberg. New: The tip of Gurgaon."
Another user, who was shocked by the visuals said, "Looks like you can't see 90% of your city."
Many people expressed curiosity about the flat's location, which appeared to be above the clouds. One user inquired, "A friend said that pollution decreases in Gurgaon above the 10th floor. Is this true? Should one buy flats accordingly?"
Another user commented, "Which apartment? Which floor? Anything less than 25, whether Camellias or any other, the view is depressing!"
While the scene is visually striking, it also underscores significant concerns regarding environmental health and air pollution, which directly impact the daily lives of residents in Delhi-NCR. This phenomenon highlights a broader issue of air quality in urban areas, where citizens face both immediate challenges related to poor visibility and long-term health risks due to ongoing pollution. The interplay of weather, urbanization, and air pollution remains a complex issue that requires collective action to address effectively.
