Imagine an actor who is a nationwide star at the age of 10 and impressed people at Cannes Film Festival while still a teen. This is the story of an Indian actress, one who was a household name while she was still in primary school. And now, just in her 20s, she is the producer of multiple films.

The actress who was a star at 10

Avika Gor broke through at the age of 10 as she played the lead in the hit TV show Balika Vadhu in 2008. The actress was the face of what became India’s most watched serial for a good two years. It propelled her to nationwide popularity and helped her career as she entered her teens. In 2016, she went to Cannes Film Festival at the age of 19, where she promoted her first short film, which she produced herself.

Avika Gor’s ‘boycott’ at Cannes

The actress said that she got no support for her Cannes debut from fashion designers as they did not want to dress a ‘TV actress’. “When I was going to the Cannes Film Festival, I was the youngest Indian to be there, it was my second time there, it was a huge deal. But for some reason, the designers didn’t see it that way. However, I figured something prettier than what they were offering. So I was happy. Then I wore a gown by a local designer, which worked,” Avika said in an interview last year. Since then, Avika has produced two more films, all by the age of 26.

When Avika Gor was accused of having a secret child

Avika was rumoured to be in a relationship with Manish Raisinghan ever since they starred in Sasural Simar Ka. The couple have faced jibes over their 10-year age gap. However, the trolls took it a bit too far when there were rumours that they had a secret child. Avika clarified that they were just friends while an angry Manish slammed the ‘absurd’ rumours. While Manish is now happily married to Sangeita, Avika is in a relationship with Milind Chandwani.
