Hogan was a true wrestling legend who broke many records and gave fans unforgettable moments. Here are five unique records that show why he will always be remembered:
1. WrestleMania for Five Years in a Row
Hogan was the final match of WrestleMania, the biggest WWE event, for five straight years. From WrestleMania 5 to 9, he was always in the spotlight. Only Roman Reigns has come close, with four in a row.
2. Most WrestleMania Main-Events (Eight Times)
Hogan has main-evented WrestleMania eight times, more than any other wrestler. He even closed the show in the very first three WrestleManias. He could have made it nine if he had main-evented WrestleMania.
3. Undefeated in Pay-Per-Views for Five Years
From 1985 to 1990, Hogan didn’t lose a single pay-per-view match. This incredible winning streak lasted for five years and earned him the nickname “The Immortal.” His streak finally ended when he lost to The Ultimate Warrior.
4. Ended Andre the Giant’s 15-Year Winning Streak
Andre the Giant had not lost a match in 15 years. But at WrestleMania 3, Hogan faced him and won, ending Andre’s legendary unbeaten run. It was one of the biggest moments in wrestling history.
5. Longest Reign as WCW World Heavyweight Champion
After WWE, Hogan joined WCW. In his first match, he won the WCW World Heavyweight Title by defeating Ric Flair. He then held that title for 469 days, the longest reign in WCW history.
Hulk Hogan's legacy will live on through these records and the impact he made on the world of wrestling. He will always be remembered as one of the greatest of all time.
