The prestigious international beauty pageant showcased 108 contestants from world over.
The 72nd editition of Miss World 2025 commenced at 06:30 pm (IST) on May 31, Saturday.
The event started with the introduction of the participants after which the Top 10 finalists from each continent was announced. From among these top 10, participants are again eliminated during several elimination rounds which then leave the final four contestants. In this year's pageant, Miss Ethiopia was named the first runner-up, Miss Poland secured third place and Miss Martinique finished fourth. A final decisive question is asked from these four finalists and their winning chance is based on their answers and the judges. This decides the ultimate winner.
Nandini Gupta who represented India did not even qualified in the top 8 even when she was expected to win the highly coveted crown. However, she was able to make it to the list of four continental winners as she won the Top Model Challenge segment. The challenge was included in the preliminary events which was also hosted in Hyderabad, in The Trident. The other continental winners are Jasmine Gerhardt of Ireland (Europe), Selma Kamanya of Namibia (Africa), and Aurelie Joachim of Martinique (Americas and Caribbean).
In case Gupta won the pageant, she would have joined the Indian league of beauties as would have claimed the crown as the seventh Indian Miss World.
