PM Modi hails Operation Sindoor's success, says Indian strikes killed more than 100 terrorists and sent a strong message to Pakistan-backed terror networks.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Monday evening, marking his first public statement since the launch of Operation Sindoor on May 7. This military action was India’s direct response to the horrific terror attack in Pahalgam, which had deeply shaken the entire nation. The PM’s address came shortly after a ceasefire was announced following four days of cross-border hostilities between India and Pakistan.
In his speech, PM Modi confirmed that India had launched precise and powerful strikes on terror camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). These strikes were not only aimed at eliminating the terrorists but also at destroying the infrastructure supporting them. According to the Prime Minister, over 100 terrorists were killed, and the attacks broke the spirit of terror organisations operating in the region.
He also mentioned that Bahawalpur and Muridke, cities in Pakistan, had turned into what he described as “universities of terrorism,” where people were being trained to carry out violence. Highlighting the strength of India's forces, PM Modi said that India's missiles and drones had shaken the terrorists, showing the world the country’s ability to strike decisively.
The Prime Minister praised the Indian Armed Forces for their bravery and determination, stating that India's development also depends on its strength, and when necessary, that strength must be used wisely. He said he salutes the soldiers who carried out the mission successfully.
He further revealed that Pakistan panicked after the strikes, reaching out to the international community for help. On May 10, the Pakistani military contacted India’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO), requesting to de-escalate the situation. By that time, however, India had already caused major damage to terror networks.
PM Modi made it very clear in his speech that India will treat both terrorists and the governments supporting them as the same. He warned that India will not stay silent in the face of terrorism and will respond with full force when needed.
This speech sent a strong and clear message: India is committed to fighting terrorism at all levels, and will take bold action to defend its people.
