A man in Lucknow murdered his mother and four sisters, recorded a video explaining his reasons, and confessed to the police, citing harassment and pressure.
Fresh details have surfaced about the horrifying murder of five family members in Lucknow on New Year’s morning. The accused, 24-year-old Arshad, allegedly killed his mother and four sisters, recorded a video of the crime, and shared it online. In the video, he is seen showing the lifeless bodies and explaining the reasons behind the gruesome act.
Arshad blamed his community in Agra and others for pressuring him into committing the crime. He claimed to have been under immense stress and said he wanted to protect his family. According to reports, his father, Badar, assisted him in the murders. After committing the crime, Arshad dropped his father at the railway station and went to a police station to confess. Meanwhile, Badar is on the run, and CCTV footage from the railway station is being reviewed to track him down.
Arshad’s Disturbing Video
The video circulating online reveals Arshad’s reasons for the murders. He claimed he didn’t want his sisters to be “sold” and mentioned harassment over land disputes. He also said the family had considered converting their religion to live peacefully.
Addressing Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the video, Arshad said, “I killed them with my father. What choice did I have? Ensure they get justice. They struggled a lot today. We have saved their honour.” He further suggested that a temple be built on their land and their belongings donated to an orphanage for the peace of their souls.
Details of the Murders
The family, originally from Agra, had come to Lucknow to celebrate the New Year. On December 31, they visited Ajmer before returning to Lucknow and checking into a hotel. Late that night, Arshad allegedly strangled his mother with her dupatta and stuffed her mouth with cloth. He used a similar method to kill his sisters, also slitting their wrists.
The victims were identified as Aliya (9), Alishiya (19), Aksa (16), Raheeman (18), and their mother Asma. Arshad was arrested after confessing to the murders. The police have recovered the murder weapons and are interrogating Arshad for more details.
Forensic teams are collecting evidence, and a detailed investigation is underway to uncover the complete truth behind the horrific incident.
