Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra recently took to social media to highlight an issue with a food delivery order, drawing both serious responses and lighthearted reactions. On January 16, Moitra flagged a problem with the delivery of 10 expensive Minus Thirty mini sticks ice creams, which she claimed were spoiled and inedible upon arrival. She ordered the ice creams for Rs 1,220 via Swiggy and demanded a refund or replacement.

“Sorry Swiggy - you’ve got to up your game. Unacceptable that I ordered expensive Minus Thirty mini sticks ice cream & it arrives spoilt and inedible. Expecting a refund or replacement asap,” Moitra tweeted at around 10:15 PM.

Swiggy's customer service team quickly responded, requesting her order details. Moitra complied, sharing the order number and inadvertently revealing the cost of the purchase. The incident became a topic of amusement on social media, with many users drawing parallels to Moitra's earlier controversies, including a high-profile debate over an expensive handbag in 2023.

Moitra, however, joined in the jokes, humorously referring to her ice creams as having “Hermes flavor with Bobbi Brown topping.” Despite the humor, she also addressed trolling she received on social media for her post. Responding to one critic, she said, “Just because I am an MP doesn’t mean I am not a normal person who orders food online. Please get over this mindset that public reps are not normal beings. And then you complain people are behaving like ‘netas’.”

The post sparked a broader discussion about delivery platforms and customer experience. Many users shared similar complaints about refunds and quality issues with frozen products. “Happened to me twice with Minus Thirty orders. It’s frustrating, but I understand the challenges with frozen deliveries,” one user shared.
