Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said during a press briefing in New Delhi on Saturday that Pakistan's recent moves are being viewed as 'provocative and escalatory.'
India and Pakistan are currently experiencing one of the most intense periods of border tensions in recent years, sparked by the launch of Operation Sindoor on 7 May 2025. Early on Friday morning, loud explosions echoed through Jammu city, resulting in a complete blackout just hours after India thwarted Pakistan’s attempt to target military installations along the border. Reports indicated the presence of loitering munitions in the skies.
On Saturday, the Ministry of Civil Aviation also declared that all civil flight operations at 32 airports will be suspended until 5:29 am on May 15. For operational considerations, the Airports Authority of India additionally prolonged the temporary shutdown of 25 Air Traffic Service (ATS) route segments located in the Flight Information Regions (FIRs) of Delhi and Mumbai.

Qureshi stated on Saturday morning that Pakistan had targeted medical facilities in Srinagar, Avantipura, and Udhampur apart from targeting military bases.
Early on May 7 morning, India executed a coordinated assault using long-range high-precision strike weapons, destroying nine sites in PoK and deep inside Pakistan in an operation codenamed 'Sindoor'.
Over 100 terrorists were eliminated in a series of precision strikes launched in the early hours of Wednesday, according to sources.
The operation, aimed at avenging the Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed, remains underway, making it challenging to provide an exact casualty count of the terrorists at this stage, sources further stated.
Indian Armed Forces successfully neutralised Pakistan military's attempts at a large-scale drone and missile attack on multiple Indian military installations across Northern and Western India during the night of May 7-8 and an Air Defence system at Lahore has been neutralised
