This superstar, who has more flops than hits, earns Rs 20 crore per film.
From Rajinikanth, Salman Khan to Shah Rukh Khan, there are several superstars who though have given major hits and blockbusters, have also seen their share of failures in their careers. One such superstar, who has given more flops than hits, earns Rs 20 crore per film.
The superstar we are talking about is a mechanical engineer, whose father was also a popular actor and now his sons are also entertaining the audience with their films. He is none other than South superstar Nagarjuna.
Nagarjuna is the son of prominent Telugu actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao. He completed one year of his Mechanical Engineering at Guindy College of Engineering, Anna University in Madras, and then decided that he wanted to pursue his passion for acting. His father sent him to Mumbai to attend an acting workshop and decide whether it was really what he wanted to do. Though he appeared as an infant in his father's films, he made his debut in the Telugu film industry as lead actor in the movie Vikram which proved to be a success at the box office giving him a good start.
Nagarjuna then went on to establish himself as a superstar working across the film industries. Nagarjuna has largely starred in action films, establishing himself as an action star with films like Aakhari Poratam, Vicky Daada, Siva, Neti Siddhartha, Chaitanya, Nirnayam, Antham, Killer, Khuda Gawah, Rakshana, Hello Brother, Govinda Govinda, Criminal, Ratchagan, Azad, Sivamani, Mass, Super, Don, and King.
Many of his films have been remade in Bollywood and even his Bollywood films like LOC Kargil, Khuda Gawah, and Brahmastra among others have been a hit at the box office. However, according to Box Office India, Nagarjuna has more flops than hits. He reportedly has 44 flops.
Despite this, he reportedly charges a whopping Rs 20 crore per film and lives a super luxurious life. According to Financial Express, Nagarjuna, one of the most successful actors in Telugu cinema history, has a net worth of over $364 million (around Rs 3100 crore). As per reports, the value of all real estate owned by Nagarjuna is around Rs 800 crore. He also owns a private plane and all of this together makes him richer than other superstars like Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Chiranjeevi, Prabhas, and Rajinikanth.
Nagarjuna will be next seen in the movie Kubera. Directed by Sekhar Kammula, the film also stars Dhanush and Rashmika Mandanna and the film's release date is yet to be announced. However, the first poster of the film featuring Dhanush has intrigued the fans.
