Saif Ali Khan stabbing case: Md Aliyan aka Bijoy Das aka Vijay, suspect confuses police with many aliases?

In a breakthrough development, Mumbai Police have apprehended the primary suspect in the Saif Ali Khan attack case. Mohammed Aalian, alias Vijay Das, a resident of West Bengal, was arrested in Thane. The accused was caught near a labour camp adjacent to Hiranandani Estate.

Police have cleared earlier detained suspects of involvement, focusing instead on prime accused Vijay Das. A joint operation by DCP Zone-6 Navnath Dhavale's team and Kasarvadavali police led to Das' arrest at a labour camp near the metro construction site in Thane's Hiranandani Estate.

The accused's real name is Mohammed Aalian alias BJ. Fearing capture, he had been using the pseudonym Vijay Das. Before his arrest, Aalian worked as a housekeeping worker at Ricky's Bar in Thane. He will be presented in court today for police remand, according to the Mumbai crime branch. The police are scheduled to brief the media on the arrest at 9 am.

Saif was brutally attacked on the night of January 16, suffering six stab wounds. A confrontation between the actor and his attacker escalated into a violent stabbing incident, with one wound narrowly missing the spine and another on the neck. A portion of the knife used in the attack remained lodged in the actor's body and was successfully removed during surgery.

Following the incident, police formed teams to track down the assailant, whose movements were captured on CCTV footage. The footage showed the attacker climbing from the sixth floor to the 11th floor of the building. The police identified the alleged attacker on CCTV roaming the streets on the morning of January 17.

After the attack, Saif was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent surgery. Fortunately, the operation was successful, and the actor is now recovering. His condition has improved, and he has been transferred from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to a general ward.
