Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan recently expressed gratitude to auto-rickshaw driver Bhajan Singh Rana, who rushed him to the hospital after he was attacked at his Bandra home in Mumbai. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of January 16, left the actor with multiple stab wounds. Saif underwent emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital and has since returned home.

During his hospital stay, Saif met Singh Rana to personally thank him for his timely help. The actor not only praised the driver but also gave him some money and assured him of assistance whenever needed. Singh Rana shared his experience, saying, “I met him at the hospital. He called to thank me for helping him reach the hospital. He praised me, and I received blessings from him and his family.”

Singh Rana added that Saif introduced him to his mother, veteran actress Sharmila Tagore. “I touched her feet, and she praised me too. He assured me of help whenever I need it,” said the humble auto driver. Despite the chaos of the situation, Singh Rana mentioned he understood why Saif didn’t initially pay for the ride. “In such a situation, it’s not about money. You just want the person to be safe,” he told ANI.

The Attack Details
The attack was carried out by an intruder, Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, a Bangladeshi national who had illegally entered India under the alias Vijay Das. Police reported that the accused entered Saif’s 12th-floor apartment by scaling the building’s compound wall. He managed to gain access to the main entrance while security guards were asleep.

The intruder reportedly intended to commit theft but ended up stabbing Saif multiple times. He was apprehended by police on Sunday from Thane city, and further investigation into the case is ongoing.

This unfortunate incident has highlighted the bravery and humanity of ordinary individuals like Singh Rana, who step up in times of crisis.
