Pushpa 2 box office collection: Allu Arjun-starrer beats Baahubali 2 to become highest-grossing film in India ever

Headlined by Allu Arjun, Pushpa 2: The Rule continues to break records at the box office even after a month since its theatrical release on December 5. The blockbuster sequel, which is running to packed theatres across the nation, has now overtaken Baahubali 2 to become the highest-grossing film in India ever.

Talking about its India gross collections, Pushpa 2 has earned Rs 1418 crore and beaten Baahubali 2's domestic gross earnings of Rs 1416 crore. In terms of the net collections in India, the Allu Arjun-starrer has earned Rs 1206 crore. Globally, the film has amassed Rs 1831 crore, which makes it the second highest-grossing Indian film ever behind Aamir Khan's Dangal.

The production house Mythri Movie Makers took to its social media handles on Monday and wrote, "Pushpa 2: TheRule is now Indian Cinema's INDUSTRY HIT with THE HIGHEST EVER COLLECTION FOR A MOVIE IN INDIA. The WILDFIRE BLOCKBUSTER crosses a gross of 1831 CRORES in 32 days worldwide."

Written and directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule is the direct sequel of Pushpa: The Rise. The first part had grossed Rs 350 crore worldwide and became the highest-grossing Indian film of 2019. The second part will be followed by Pushpa 3: The Rampage, which was teased in Pushpa 2's climax.

Pushpa 2 has remained the first choice of the moviegoers even after the release of multiple movies across languages. These include Varun Dhawan's Baby John in Hindi, Mufasa: The Lion King in English, Kiccha Sudeep's Max in Kannada, Mohanlal's Barroz and Unni Mukundan-starrer Marco in Malayalam.
