This multi-faceted artist started very early in her career by mastering her skills in acting, singing and modelling. She made her screen debut in the 1987 TV series Chunauti, however, her Bollywood debut alongside superstar Shah Rukh Khan gained her widespread recognition. Beyond acting, she made a mark in the music industry, releasing several pop albums that have been well-received by audiences. Not only this, she has made a name for herself as a writer with books, including The Summer of Cool (2009). Yes, we are talking about talented Suchitra Krishnamoorthi.

Suchitra rose to fame with her lead role in Kundan Shah's iconic 1994 romantic comedy Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, alongside Shah Rukh Khan. She also pursued a music career in the 1990s, releasing albums like Dole Dole and Zindagi. After a 10-year hiatus, she returned to films with My Wife's Murder (2005) alongside Anil Kapoor and later appeared in Ram Gopal Varma's Rann (2010) as media executive Nalini Kashyap.

Further, she initially gained recognition for her blogs, which often sparked controversy. She has written several books, including Drama Queen (2013), The Good News Reporter and The Ghost on the Ledge. After a brief hiatus, she returned to the screen with notable performances in the Prime Video India films Odd Couple alongside Vijay Raaz and the legal drama series Guilty Minds, where she played the role of Neela.  

Talking about her personal life, Suchitra got married to filmmaker Shekhar Kapur in 1999, but their marriage ended in a messy divorce in 2007. The actress accused Shekhar of infidelity, which led to a bitter breakup. She later wrote a blog hinting at a ‘man-eater’ being the reason for their split, and although she didn't name the person initially, she later implied that it was Preity Zinta.

In the early 2000s, Suchitra and Preity Zinta were embroiled in a heated public feud. Suchitra had accused Preity of being the reason for her marriage to Shekhar Kapur falling apart. Preity retaliated by mocking Suchitra for being a homemaker, implying that she was jealous of Preity's success as a top actress. Preity even went so far as to suggest that Suchitra needed psychiatric help, implying that she was unstable.

Meanwhile, Suchitra shares a daughter, Kaveri with Shekhar Kapur. Kaveri is on the verge of being launched in Bollywood.
