Malayalam star Riyaz Khan breaks his silence after being kicked out of Unni Mukundan’s Marco: 'I am sad’

Unni Mukundan's movie Marco is being called the most intense action film of the year. Recently, Malayalam actor Riyaz Khan made a surprising statement, revealing that his character was cut from the final version of the film.

In an interview with Kan Channel Media, Riyaz Khan admitted that he had a significant fight scene with Unni Mukundan. Some previews of this sequence had already been shared on social media. He shared that both he and Unni Mukundan had created unique looks for that particular scene. Riyaz also pointed out that it was Unni Mukundan who had reached out to him specifically for that scene.

He stated, "During the shooting of Marco, Unni Mukundan and I had a fight and we filmed it. It got a good reach. When you watch that video, you know that Unni Mukundan and I are very close. The look you saw is nothing like the one I saw for Marco. A large part of Unni and I had a very different makeover. It wasn’t a black and black suit getup. Unni was in a different style. I was in that part.”

Riyaz Khan went on to say that after Marco was released, director Haneef Adeni told him that his scene had been cut. However, the director clarified that it was not a deliberate choice.

The Malayalam actor expressed that although he respects the decision made by the filmmakers, he feels disappointed as an actor. He added that it’s even more upsetting since Marco became such a successful film.

He further added, "As an actor I am sad. It is even sadder to be out of a hit film. I am in a film that is being discussed all over the world but no.”
