A successful movie doesn't always need a big budget, lavish locations, or the biggest of stars. Even a small film can make a big difference, and this is exactly what Damien Leone's directorial Terrifier 3 has done. For the unversed, Terrifier 3 is a supernatural horror slasher film, and it is the third instalment in Terrifier series. The movie is the direct sequel to Terrifier (2016) and Terrifier 2 (2021). 

What is the Terrifier franchise all about? 

The franchise mainly focuses on Sienna Shaw, a young woman destined to defeat the mysterious, ruthless Art the Clown, a demonic serial killer that inhabits the fictitious Miles County, New York. Terrifier 3 marks the return of Art The Clown with his new accomplice, a possessed Victoria Heyes. 

How Terrifier 3 is the world's most profitable film of 2024

The indie movie was made on a small budget of only $2 million, and it went on to earn $89 million, which is 45 times its budget. Currently, the highest-grossing film in Hollywood in 2024 is Inside Out 2. The Disney Pixar film earned $1.7 billion against $200 million budget. The animation movie's profit percentage is smaller than Terrifier 3. Similarly, Marvel's Deadpool & Wolverine also earned $1.33 billion on a $200-million budget. These films have earned 5-6 times more than their budgets, but Terrifier earned a profit way bigger than any of these films.

How did Terrifier 3 beat Pushpa 2 The Rule? 

Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 is India's highest-grossing film of 2024. The movie earned Rs 1700 crores, and it continues to dominate the cinemas. However, the budget of the film is reportedly around Rs 500 crores. This means Pushpa 2 could earn 3 times its budget, and that's how Terrifier is the bigger hit than even Pushpa 2. 

Terrifier 3 was released in cinemas on October 11, a week after Joker Folie à Deux. The sequel to Todd Phillips' billion-dollar movie was expected to crush Terrifier 3, but it went totally opposite. Joker 2 was straightaway rejected by the audience, and that benefited Terrifier 3 further.
