Music composer and singer Vishal Dadlani recently posted a cryptic note slamming a “basic-to-bad singer” for embarrassing India at such a large stage. Though he restrained from mentioning the singer’s name, it was quite evident that he took a potshot at Jasleen Royal, who recently performed with Chris Martin on stage during a recent Coldplay concert in Mumbai.
Jasleen has been facing social media backlash for her performance at Coldplay’s Mumbai concert. Vishal joined the bandwagon and expressed his disappointment with her performance. However, later, his story was deleted.
Taking to his Instagram story, he penned a note targeting Jasleen, and said, “I'm really sorry, but when you put a basic-to-bad singer in front of a large crowd on a large stage, all you're doing is showing more people that the individual can't really sing, and that sadly, systems within labels in India aren't geared towards really promoting the best we have."
Further, Vishal asserted that it was embarrassing for the country. "I've just seen some clips, and my gosh... How embarrassing! For the country, the artiste, the public, as well as the scene,” he added.
Who is he referring to here?

In no time, his now-deleted Instagram story caught the attention of Reddit users and went viral on the site. Social media users were quick to understand Vishal’s indirect dig at Jasleen. One user wrote, “Seems like he is referring to Jasleen Royal's performance during Coldplay’s concert in Mumbai”. “I attended on 19th and couldn’t wait for her part to get over. She looked absolutely dull and uninterested and at some point it felt like she was just reading the lyrics. It was truly an embarrassment,” another seconded Vishal’s views.
Meanwhile, Jasleen is set to open Coldplay's upcoming concerts in Ahmedabad on January 21.She made history by becoming the first Indian artist to open for Coldplay in Mumbai that performed on January 18 and 19 in Mumbai.
