Game Charan is Ram Charan's next release after the 2022 blockbuster RRR and Shankar's next release after the 2024 massive flop Indian 2.
Headlined by Ram Charan and helmed by Shankar, the political thriller Game Changer is set for a worldwide release on January 10. The Shankar directorial stars Ram Charan in double roles of a father and son, alongside Kiara Advani, Anjali, Samuthirakani, S. J. Suryah, Srikanth, Sunil, and Jayaram in pivotal roles.
As per a report in Pinkvilla, Game Changer has pre-sales in India of around Rs 30 crore. If the film receives positive reviews, the final numbers for day 1 might rocket to Rs 50 to Rs 55 crore because of the Sanktranti and Pongal festive season. Ram Charan has a huge fan following in the overseas market, from where the film might earn around Rs 40 to Rs 45 crore. Thus, Game Changer is looking to collect Rs 90 to Rs 100 crore on its opening day.
There are no big releases for the next two weeks until Akshay Kumar-starrer action thriller Sky Force on January 24. And hence, if Game Changer is able to win over the hearts of the audiences, it could become the first blockbuster of 2025. The film's budget is estimated at around Rs 350 crore and hence, the film needs to perform well at the box office.
Game Charan is Ram Charan's next release after the 2022 blockbuster RRR and hence, it is widely awaited despite Shankar's last film Indian 2 being a massive flop. Released last year, the Kamal Haasan-starrer vigilante drama was made on a massive budget of Rs 250 crore but could only earn Rs 150 crore. Indian 3 is slated to release later this year.
Shankar will hope to bounce back with Game Changer, which also marks his debut in Telugu cinema. Apart from Telugu, the film will also be released in the dubbed version in Hindi and Tamil languages. Dil Raju has produced Game Changer under his banner Sri Venkateswara Creations.
