Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 vs Shah Rukh Khan's The Lion King Mufasa box office battle: Who won?

Disney's Mufasa: The Lion King has been released with much fanfare on December 20 (Friday). The prequel to The Lion King was among the awaited releases. In India, the movie has been released with the association of superstars. Shah Rukh Khan has dubbed Mufasa in Hindi, whereas Mahesh Babu has dubbed the central character in Telugu.

In India, Mufasa has been released in cinemas amid facing strong competition from Pushpa 2: The Rule. Allu Arjun-starrer is in its fourth week and continues to perform strongly at the box office. Let's compare the Day One domestic collection of Mufasa with Pushpa 2. 

How much did Mufasa: The Lion King earn on Day One? 

As per the trade portal Sacnilk, Mufasa: The Lion King has collected Rs 10 crores in India, this includes Rs 4 crore from the English version, Rs 3 crore from the Hindi version, Rs 2 crore from the Telugu version, and Rs 1 crore from the Tamil version. 

How much did Pushpa 2: The Rule earned On Day One 

As Sacnilk reported, Pushpa 2 opened on a bumper note and collected Rs 164 crores on Thursday (December 5). This includes Rs 80.30 crore from the Telugu version, Rs 70.30 crore from the Hindi version, Rs 7 crore from the Tamil version, Rs 1.1 crore from the Kannada version, and Rs 4.95 crore from the Malayalam version. Even in it's 16th day (December 20), when Mufasa opened, Pushpa 2 earned Rs 13.75 crores in India. 

Mufasa vs Pushpa 2: Who won the box office battle? 

It's clearly indicated that Allu Arjun has won the box office clash here. In India, Mufasa opened well, but Pushpa 2 smashed records like a Tsunami from its first day. As Koimoi reported, Mufasa has earned over $6.5 million in the United States.
