These management skills of Coldplay which made the weekend concerts function smoothly led Diljit Dosanjh's Dil-Luminati tour be seen in a critical spotlight along with his statements on India's poor infrastructure for live shows.
Mumbai is swaying to the tunes of British rock band Coldplay as their back-to-back concerts in Mumbai, over last weekend and on Tuesday, January 21 enthralled fans in the metropolitan city.
The concert saw Chris Martin interacting with fans. What appealed to the fans the most was the visual appeal of the stadium, which was studded with gleaming lights, detailed designs of the stage and attendees wearing LED wristbands. But beyond these blinding lights lay the management techniques behind the Music of the Sphere world tour concert that amazed the concertgoers.
These management skills which made the weekend concerts function smoothly led Diljit Dosanjh's Dil-Luminati tour be seen in a critical spotlight along with his statements on India's poor infrastructure for live shows.
Fans of the British rock band have been very excited for its Music of the Spheres World Tour. Their management to execute a great concert at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium on January 18-19 were appreciated by fans.
The appreciation was not solely based on the band’s management team pulling off a great concert but on the context of singer Diljit Dosanjh’s Dil-Luminati tour, which received huge criticism for its poor management.
A user by the name adityamehrax on X, wrote, “Sorry, Diljit, but India does have the infrastructure to do concerts; maybe if you could get a team like Coldplay, it would be possible.”

What Diljit remarked on concert infrastructure in India
His remarks came as a comparison between Diljit’s concerts last month in India and Coldplay’s Mumbai shows. Diljit had criticised India's inadequate facilities during the India leg of his tour. Diljit Dosanjh abruptly announced his decision to stop performing in India during his Chandigarh concert, citing the country's inadequate infrastructure for live shows. He said, “We don't have the proper infrastructure for live shows here.”
In a stark contrast to Dosanjh’s shows, Coldplay performed well which led netizens to debate about infrastructure facilities in India for concerts and management by the team of the artists.
Some reactions on the post of the original X user appreciated Coldplay’s management skills while others agreed that India need a better infrastructure for concerts.
Strong disagree. India needs more Infra. There’s a lot at play here than just “getting a team”. Coldplay was 50-60k pax, Diljit’s shows are maybe 20-30k.

Economies of scale work at a stadium level, but can you name one purpose built arena that can hold 30k people in Mumbai?
I'm a staunch MODI SUPPORTER but here i agree with diljit because most of the concerts i went to had a lackluster infrastructure and very basic amenities... infrastructure wise we are very far behind...and its not always about politics sometimes we need to get over it .

Lauding the Spheres tour, a user wrote, “Everything was managed so well. I don't know if they're doing it better or if it was just for Coldplay. I did not expect the event to be managed well. And more importantly, water being accessible and for free. I hope this becomes the new norm in India.”

Another noted, “If you are getting a cheaper venue despite astronomically high-ticket prices, you are the problem.” “Oh, the crowd was wonderfully managed... Expected a little chaos but nothing too much... It was easy to get there, and we could easily board a bus from the station for 10 rs pp.”
