If you’re preparing for the UPSC Civil Services exam, you’ve probably heard of Dr. Vikas Divyakirti. He is a well-known teacher who focuses on helping students prepare for the UPSC exams. Dr. Divyakirti is very popular on social media, especially on Instagram, where many pages share short clips from his lectures. His personal YouTube channel has 2.95 million subscribers, and his coaching institute, Drishti IAS, has over 11 million followers.
In 1998, Dr. Divyakirti got married to Taruna Verma, who holds a PhD and serves as the Director of Drishti IAS. Taruna has also good a following on Instagram, with 65.5K followers.
Hailing from Bhiwani, Haryana, Dr. Vikas Divyakirti was born on December 26, 1973, and grew up in a middle-class household. His mother taught PGT in Bhiwani, and his father was a well-known professor of Hindi literature at Maharishi Dayanand University. His two older brothers are a DIG at the CBI and a software engineer in the United States, respectively. After attending Saraswati Shishu Mandir in Bhiwani for his early schooling, Dr. Divyakirti went on to Zakir Husain Delhi College, which is a division of Delhi University, to earn a bachelor's degree in Hindi. In addition to MPhil and PhD degrees, he advanced his academic credentials with postgraduate degrees in Hindi and English. He is regarded as one of India's most qualified instructors for UPSC candidates due to his extensive educational background.
Dr. Divyakirti started teaching at Delhi University after graduating, all the while studying for the UPSC examinations. On his first try, he earned an outstanding All India Rank (AIR) of 384 in 1996. Although he briefly worked at the Ministry of Home Affairs, his passion for teaching led him to establish Drishti IAS in Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi, in 1999.
As the Director of Drishti IAS, Taruna Verma is essential to its success. She makes a substantial contribution to the institute's aim of offering aspiring civil servants high-quality education through her own academic accomplishments and leadership abilities.
