No doubt that conquering India's UPSC exam is one of the country's toughest exams. And after cracking the same, the glory is not just about superior brains but also comes as a doorway to the high post of an IAS officer. Among so many determined aspirants who successfully went through this rigorous journey, there is one, Nidhi Siwach, whose tale is indeed one of perseverance and dedication.

From Haryana, Nidhi Gurugram did exceptionally well right from the initial years of college, scoring a high of 95% in her 10th and 90% in her 12th class results. She has done her BTech in Mechanical Engineering from Deenbandhu Chhoturam University at Sonipat. She joined Tech Mahindra, Hyderabad, as a design engineer, right after graduating. However, in 2017, she took a bold decision and quit her job to pursue a full-time dedication to preparing for the UPSC exam, fuelled by passion for public service.

For half a year, Nidhi dedicated herself to her studies, often cutting herself off from the world so that she could focus and prepare to the maximum. She opted for History as an optional subject. She had developed a very sound base during her earlier schooling in the 9th and 10th grades. She chose English as the medium of the optional paper, thinking that it would suit her overall preparation strategy.

Nidhi's relentless hard work and strategic approach paid off when she successfully cleared the UPSC exam on her third attempt in 2018, achieving an impressive 83rd rank nationwide. This achievement secured her a coveted position as an IAS officer, and she is presently serving in the state of Gujarat.

The journey from a devoted engineering graduate to a respected IAS officer is an example of perseverance, strategic planning, and unyielding commitment.
