Clearing the UPSC Civil Service Exam (CSE) is no easy task. Every year, examination halls get flooded with aspirations and dreams of students to join the administrative field. 

In this article, we will walk you through the journey of Rupal Rana, who aced the UPSC examination 2024 by achieving an All India Rank (AIR) 26, defying odds. Having had lost her mother, it was never a smooth journey for Rupal. Despite this, she set her heart upon her dreams and successfully achieved with the support of her father and siblings. 

Early education 

A native of the Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh, Rupal Rana pursued her primary education from JP Public School there. Having scored a perfect 10 CGPA in the tenth grade, she went on to opt for higher education from Birla Institute of Technology (BITS), Pilani. Later, Rupal pursued her graduation from Deshbandhu College, University of Delhi. 

Rupal's father, Jasveer Rana, is serves as an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in Delhi police. Notably, her aspiration to crack UPSC stems from her father's dedication towards the service. 

Rupal lost her mother at a young age 

As per a report by india.com, Rupal Rana lost her mother at a very young age. Although the tragedy had left her shattered, she didn't give up on her dreams. With her family's constant support, she continued her studies. 

Journey to UPSC 

As Rupal kickstarted her UPSC preparations, she had to witness two unsuccessful attempts. Her hard work bore fruits as she cracked the examination with AIR 26 in 2024.
