Securing an impressive 337 out of 360 marks from the IIT Roorkee zone. His achievement didn't stop there; previously, he had claimed the fourth position in the JEE Main the same year and had topped the tricity in the CBSE Class 12 non-medical stream.
For many aspiring engineers, the dream of studying at an IIT begins in class 10, with intense preparation for the JEE Main and Advanced exams. Without passing these rigorous tests, gaining admission to an IIT remains a distant dream. One such inspiring story is that of Pranav Goyal from Chandigarh.
In 2018, Pranav clinched the top spot in the JEE (Advanced), securing an impressive 337 out of 360 marks from the IIT Roorkee zone. His achievement didn't stop there; previously, he had claimed the fourth position in the JEE Main the same year and had topped the Tricity in the CBSE Class 12 non-medical stream. When Pranav looked back on his achievements, he credited his parents, who co-own a pharmaceutical company in Chandigarh, and his professors for their continuous support as well as his disciplined study schedule.
"When I started preparing, I aimed to be in the top 10," Pranav recalled. "But as time progressed, I set my sights on topping the JEE."
Following his excellent performance, Pranav pursued a B.Tech in Computer Science at IIT Bombay, renowned for its academic excellence and research contributions. His academic journey, however, was just the beginning. According to his LinkedIn profile, Pranav transitioned into the world of quantitative trading at Jane Street, a global trading firm. In his current role, he focuses on developing and testing diverse trading strategies across international derivatives markets, highlighting his commitment to continuous learning and global engagement.
Pranav's story underscores not only the academic rigour required to excel in competitive examinations but also the importance of pursuing one's passions beyond conventional boundaries. His journey from a student immersed in textbooks to a professional navigating the complexities of global finance serves as an inspiration to aspiring engineers and traders alike.
