EDUCATION
Kalpit Veerwal, who scored full marks in the first part of the entrance test (JEE Main) in 2017, said he did not study half as much as the aspirant in question.
Every year, millions of candidates aspire to study at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) by taking the JEE Main and Advanced exams, however, only a select few manage to pass these challenging exams. Studying at an IIT is a dream for many young people, and achieving this dream requires clearing both the JEE Main and Advanced exams. Today, we highlight the extraordinary journey of Kalpit Veerwal, who topped JEE (Advanced) in 2017.
In JEE Mains 2017, IIT JEE Topper Kalpit Veerwal achieved a perfect 360 out of 360, earning him the All India Rank 1 position. He secured a seat at IIT Bombay and studied Computer Science Engineering from 2017 to 2021.
He had always aspired to start a business of his own, and after making history in the entrance exam, he joined IIT Bombay with that goal clearly in mind. His goal has been clear to him since he joined IIT. During his graduation, he made a goal to make enough money in college to not sit for placement. He began posting articles online about his study habits and strategies to help others. He eventually received positive feedback from the readers, which encouraged him to start a YouTube account during his second year at IIT.
Kalpit Veerwal skipped campus internships to work on growing his channel and education website, AcadBoost. Following year, he created his first online course for the education site. He was able to sell enough over the first few months to surpass the highest package that IIT Bombay CSE was offering that year. So he decided to skip the placements and pursue his education business.
Throughout the next two years, the business steadied. Since its start, it has been profitable every month and has seen monthly growth in the number of students. Despite several approaches from PE firms, well-known investors, and acquisition attempts by several EdTech companies, it never raised any money. He has created a good portfolio of passive income by investing all of the money into various companies, equities, real estate, etc.
