IAS Sonal Goel, a 2008-batch officer with huge Instagram followers, inspires the public by blending her prestigious role with social media accessibility.
In today's digital age, social media has become a part of everyday life, influencing people from all walks of life, including those in prestigious roles like the civil services. Many IAS and IPS officers now use social media platforms to engage with the public, sharing glimpses of their personal and professional lives. One such officer making waves online is IAS Sonal Goel, who has built an impressive following of over 700,000 on Instagram.
Sonal Goel recently grabbed public attention when she walked the ramp in a vibrant red saree, exuding grace and confidence. The occasion was the Walk For A Cause fashion event, organized by the IASOWA (IAS Officers’ Wives Association) in collaboration with fashion designer Shaina NC. Her participation not only highlighted her elegant style but also showed her support for meaningful causes.
Born and raised in Panipat, Haryana, Sonal is a 2008-batch IAS officer. She studied at Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University, before pursuing an LLB degree. Interestingly, Sonal's journey to the civil services was not something she had planned from the start. It was an article she read in a magazine that introduced her to the IAS as a career option. Despite her family’s wishes for her to pursue a career as a Company Secretary (CS), Sonal remained determined to follow her newfound passion for civil services. She achieved her goal through hard work and dedication and became an IAS officer.
Sonal Goel’s story is not just about professional success—it’s also about her ability to connect with people and inspire them. Her use of social media to share her journey, achievements, and personal moments has made her relatable and admired by many. By blending the prestige of her role with the accessibility of social platforms, she continues to motivate others to chase their dreams while staying grounded.
