In Pics: Know educational qualifications, salary of PM Modi's private secretary Nidhi Tewari and RBI deputy governor Poonam Gupta

Nidhi Tewari hails from Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi, which interestingly, is also the Parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Modi. She is a 2014-batch IFS officer and also the youngest officer to hold this post, as per media reports. 

Nidhi Tewari completed her schooling from Varanasi. She then pursued her graduation in Political Science from Banaras Hindu University (BHU). She cracked UPSC CSE in 2013, clinching an impressive AIR 96 and then pursued IFS.  

As per media reports, Nidhi Tiwari will receive a salary based on Pay Matrix Level-14, which is Rs 1,44,200 per month. In addition, she is entitled to recieve additional benefits such as dearness allowance, house allowance, and travel allowance, bringing her total monthly salary to around Rs 2 lakh. 

Poonam Gupta, Director General of the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), has been appointed as the deputy governor of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for a term of three years, succeeding MD Patra. 

Poonam Gupta holds both a PhD in Economics from the University of Maryland, USA. She also earned a Master’s degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi. 

As per media reports, Poonam Gupta will receive a monthly salary of Rs 2.25 lakhs as the deputy governor of RBI.
