Watch: Virat Kohli refuses to learn from his mistake, Scott Boland dismisses India's star batter with off-stump delivery

Indian cricket sensation Virat Kohli experienced a moment of intense frustration on the second day of the fifth and final Test against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). This frustration stemmed from his recurring dismissal to balls outside the off stump.

Kohli was once again sent back to the pavilion by Australian bowler Scott Boland, who has consistently troubled the Indian batting lineup throughout the series. This dismissal occurred on a day when Kohli had taken over the captaincy from Jasprit Bumrah, who had left the stadium for a medical check-up due to a back issue.

Despite this setback, Kohli led India to a strong position against Australia. The hosts were dismissed for 181 giving India a narrow lead of four runs before the tea break. Boland continued to dominate the Indian batting order dismissing both openers and forcing Kohli to partner with Shubman Gill at the crease.

Although Kohli showed promise at the start, he was once again dismissed by Boland after scoring just six runs off 12 balls. This marked the fourth time in the series that Boland had managed to dismiss Kohli showcasing his exceptional bowling skills.

Kohli's dismissal pattern has been consistent with seven out of eight dismissals coming from deliveries outside the off-stump. In the first innings of this match, he was caught in the slips by Beau Webster off Boland's bowling after scoring 17 runs from 69 balls.

This series has proven to be challenging for Kohli who typically excels while playing in Australia. Despite a strong start in Perth with a century that helped India win the first Test Kohli struggled to find his form. His next highest score was 36 runs in the Boxing Day Test, and he only reached double digits on three occasions.

Overall, Kohli finished the series with 190 runs at an average of just 23.75 from nine innings.
