'UK1845': Vistara flight pays tribute to Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli as Team India lands in Mumbai for victory parade

The Rohit Sharma-led Team India has arrived in Mumbai in preparation for the highly-anticipated open-top bus victory parade from Marine Drive to Wankhede Stadium.

Following their T20 World Cup 2024 triumph, the Men in Blue were temporarily stranded in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl. However, they have now returned home with the trophy in hand. Upon landing in Delhi, the team headed to the ITC Maurya Hotel to rest before meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence, 7 Lok Jan Marg.

After a productive hour-long meeting and breakfast with PM Modi, the India squad departed for Delhi Airport to catch a flight to Mumbai for the eagerly awaited victory parade through the streets of Maharashtra's financial capital. The players boarded Vistara Flight UK 1845 from Delhi, and the airline service took to social media to announce their departure.

The UK1845 was a unique Vistara flight arranged for Team India to travel from Delhi to Mumbai for an open-top bus victory parade. However, Vistara decided to rename the flight as a tribute to India's legendary batting duo, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. The flight number, 18 and 45, symbolize the jersey numbers worn by Kohli and Rohit in international cricket, respectively.

This special Vistara flight is a token of appreciation for Kohli and Rohit's remarkable contributions in T20I cricket. The duo recently announced their retirement from the shortest format of the game after leading Team India to victory in the T20 World Cup 2024.
