U19 Women's T20 World Cup semifinal 2: India crush England by 9 wickets, set up final date with South Africa

In a one-sided semifinal of the U-19 Women's T20 World Cup, India defeated England by a commanding 9 wickets, guaranteeing their spot in the championship match for the second time in a row. With their brilliant performance, the bowlers held England to 113/8. In Kuala Lumpur, the Indian batters successfully chased down the mark in just 15 overs, extending their tournament winning streak. 

They are now set to face South Africa in the final on Sunday, following the Proteas' surprising five-wicket win against Australia earlier in the day.

With three wickets for 21 runs in four overs, Parunika Sisodia's outstanding effort earned her the Player of the Match award. Another important player was Vaishnavi Sharma, who took three wickets and caused the English batting order to collapse drastically. With a 60-run opening partnership, G Kamalini (56 not out) and Gongadi Trisha (35) gave India a solid start.

Despite the fact that the target was too low for India's strong batting lineup, the team took advantage of their bowlers' momentum and won with 30 balls left. Kamalini's second half-century in a row was crucial to the victory. Even if the hitters put on a strong show, the bowlers—particularly the spinners—deserve praise for destroying the English middle order. Aayushi Shukla, Sisodia, and Sharma (2/21) were crucial to India's triumph.

In the latter stages of England's innings, poor shot selection, particularly an overreliance on sweep shots, contributed to their downfall. The team could only muster 40 runs in the last 10 overs, losing six wickets in the process.
