The tweet features Afghanistan's star spinner, Rashid Khan, leading to speculation that the seasoned leg-spinner may take over as the team's captain from Shubman Gill.

The official Gujarat Titans Twitter account posted an image of Rashid Khan looking at a blank slate with the caption: "A Clean Slate. A New Story." This cryptic message has left many wondering if the team is gearing up to announce a significant shift in their leadership structure for the upcoming season.

While the franchise has not officially confirmed any changes, the timing and content of the tweet have sparked rumors. Rashid Khan has been a standout performer since joining the Titans in 2022 and was retained for INR 18 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 auction.

Rashid Khan's leadership abilities are well-documented, having previously captained Afghanistan's national team. On the other hand, Shubman Gill, who was retained by GT for INR 16.5 crore, has also been a key player for the franchise.

Shubman Gill took over as captain in 2024 after Hardik Pandya's departure to the Mumbai Indians but faced challenges as the team struggled. Despite his impressive individual performances, questions about his leadership arose after the Titans finished a disappointing eighth in the points table, with only five wins from 14 matches.
