IND-W vs IRE-W, 2nd ODI: Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma shine as India crush Ireland by 116 runs, take 2-0 lead

The Indian women's cricket team defeated Ireland by 116 runs in the second one-day international of their three-match series on Sunday in Rajkot. Ireland, faced with the daunting challenge of chasing 371 runs, achieved only 254/7 in 50 overs. Coulter Reilly was the visitors' top scorer, with 80 runs off 113 balls, while Deepti Sharma was India's best bowler, taking three wickets for 37 runs. Priya Mishra also contributed significantly, taking a couple of vital wickets.

Jemimah Rodrigues scored her first ODI century, helping India record their highest total in this format against Ireland, 370/5 in 50 overs. Rodrigues turned in an outstanding effort, scoring 102 runs off 91 balls. Harleen Deol fell short of a century, scoring 89 runs. Captain Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal both contributed considerably, scoring 73 and 67 runs, respectively.

India had previously won the series opener by six wickets on Friday, chasing down a target of 239 runs in 34.3 overs.

With this latest victory, India has now won the series and will try to achieve a clean sweep when they face Ireland in the third and final match on January 15 in Rajkot.
