Tilak Varma has the opportunity to set a significant world record during the 1st T20I between India and England at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Tilak Varma's career took a turn in November when India faced South Africa in a T20I series. He displayed his abilities by hitting hundreds in the third and fourth matches, assisting India to a 3-1 victory under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav.
Following a sluggish start to the first two games, the young hitter contacted the captain and requested to play at number three. Suryakumar's willingness to move down to number four enabled Tilak to succeed, scoring unbeaten centuries of 107 and 120.
Tilak is expected to continue at number three as India prepares to face England in the series opener on Wednesday (January 22) at Eden Gardens. This budding batsman has an excellent opportunity to create a new world record on Kolkata's batting-friendly ground.
Tilak has previously scored three straight hundreds in T20 cricket, including one in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Hyderabad, and he now hopes to repeat the feat in international cricket. His exceptional form has given him a chance to cement his spot in the national squad, especially when crucial players like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Rishabh Pant focus on longer forms.
Batters with consecutive T20I hundreds

Sanju Samson - 111 vs Bangladesh, 107 vs South Africa
Tilak Varma - 107* vs South Africa, 120* vs South Africa
With his recent achievements and potential, Tilak Varma is set to make a significant impact in cricket and establish himself as a valuable player for the Indian team in T20 matches.
