IND vs AUS: Rishabh Pant significantly shifted the momentum of the game through his impressive display of powerful hitting.
Rishabh Pant showcased his exceptional batting skills during the fifth Test against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday achieving the second fastest Test fifty by an Indian player. With an impressive display of six fours and three sixes Pant reached his half-century off just 29 balls. This achievement surpassed his previous record of a fifty in 28 balls against Sri Lanka in 2022.
Pant was on track to break the record for the quickest Test fifty by an Indian when he was 47 off 23 balls. However, it took him an additional six balls to complete the remaining three runs. This remarkable feat now stands as the fastest fifty by a visiting batter in Australia, surpassing the records previously held by England’s John Brown (1895) and Roy Fredericks (1975) with 33 balls.
Starting his innings with a six off Scott Boland, Pant continued to dominate the field and reached his milestone with another maximum off Mitchell Starc.
