IND vs AUS: Nitish Reddy celebrates maiden Test fifty at MCG with signature Pushpa move - Watch

Nitish Kumar Reddy achieved a significant milestone on Day 3 of the Boxing Day Test against Australia at the historic Melbourne Cricket Ground by scoring his first Test fifty. On Saturday, December 28, Reddy reached his half-century off 81 balls while India was facing pressure. The 21-year-old Reddy has been in good form for the visiting team, consistently contributing with valuable innings.

In the Perth Test, Reddy scored 41 and 38 not out, followed by a score of 42 in the Day-Night warm-up match at the Manuka Oval in Canberra. Despite India's loss in the Adelaide Test, Reddy showed resilience by scoring 42 in both innings. Although he was dismissed for 16 at The Gabba in Brisbane, Reddy bounced back with a strong performance at the MCG.

To celebrate his maiden Test fifty, Reddy performed the signature move from the Telugu movie 'Pushpa', starring Allu Arjun. The movie's sequel, 'Pushpa 2', was released on December 5 and has been a massive success at the box office. The right-handed batsman was thrilled to achieve this significant milestone in his career.

Reddy rose to prominence following his outstanding performance for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who emerged as the runners-up in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL). In 13 matches, he scored a total of 303 runs with a highest score of 76 not out, and also took three wickets at an economy rate of 11.62. It is evident that Reddy's talent and skill have earned him recognition on the national stage, as he has now had the opportunity to showcase his abilities while representing India at the highest level.
