IND vs AUS 4th Test Day 4 highlights: Lyon, Boland frustrate India with 10th-wicket partnership, AUS 228/9 at stumps

The final session of play on day four of the Boxing Day Test at the MCG showcased Australia's resilience in frustrating India's bowling attack. Despite a strong afternoon session earlier in the day, India struggled to dismiss Australia's tail. Marnus Labuschagne and Pat Cummins built a solid partnership for the seventh wicket, crossing the 50-run mark before Labuschagne was caught LBW by Mohammed Siraj. Cummins continued to add runs but was eventually caught by skipper Rohit Sharma off a delivery from Ravindra Jadeja. Mitchell Starc's big hitting was cut short by a brilliant run-out by Rishabh Pant.

The most challenging moment for India came from a stubborn partnership between Australia's numbers 10 and 11, Nathan Lyon and Scott Boland. They extended Australia's lead to 333 runs, setting up a daunting chase for India on day five.

Mohammed Siraj made an immediate impact in the third session by dismissing Marnus Labuschagne with his first ball. Labuschagne and Cummins had steadied the ship after a fiery spell from Jasprit Bumrah had rattled Australia's middle order in the second session. Bumrah's quick wickets had put Australia in a precarious position, with their lead falling below 200 runs.

Despite a promising start in the second session with Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne at the crease, India's bowlers fought back. Mohammed Siraj's dismissal of Smith was followed by Bumrah's quick wickets of Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh. Bumrah continued his dominance by cleaning up Alex Carey in the following over.
